Don’t Be Afraid To Dream

Have you ever had a dream that scared you? It seemed too big, too unattainable, too unrealistic. If we’re honest with ourselves, we all have.

I challenge you to let those thoughts linger a bit. Let them roam around your mind and let your imagination try to figure out creative ways to get you there.

When we’re younger, we all have big dreams. Don’t believe me? Ask any kid what they want to be “when they grow up” and you’ll hear a myriad of ideas, some realistic and some bordering on the magical and mystical.

But that’s the beautiful thing about asking kids to share their ideas and their thoughts. They’re not limited to the realistic, they’re going off of feel and emotion. And it’s this concept that could change your life forever.

Eleanor Roosevelt said, "The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams."

Give yourself the space to dream big. Don’t limit yourself “being realistic”; you’ll have time to do that later.

The Importance of Dreaming Big

You know what I didn’t realize when I was younger? Big dreams are the blueprint of your life's potential. They are the bold strokes of imagination that paint a picture of what you can achieve. Without them, life is just… tasks, to-do lists, and stand-up meetings.

In a world that often tells us to be realistic and to temper our aspirations, holding onto big dreams is almost an act of rebellion. It's a statement that says you believe in the boundless possibilities of your potential.

Remember, every great achievement once started as a dream in someone's heart. Whether it was the first flight, living in space, or the invention of the internet – they all began as a dream.

But it's not just about the achievements. It’s about who you become. It pushes you out of your comfort zone, challenges you to grow, and teaches you more about yourself than any textbook or professor ever could.

I won't lie to you – dreaming big can be scary. It means exposing yourself to the risk of failure and the doubts of both yourself and others. But here's the thing: every time you dare to dream, you open up a world of possibilities. You learn resilience, creativity, and the power of perseverance.

So, dream with the boldness of someone who knows that their potential is limitless.

Embracing the Journey

Whenever I think about dreaming big, I think about my parents. They had dreams to move to America. When you think about, when you truly think about it, it’s kind of amazing.

Some of us can’t even move STATES without completely freaking out, and they moved an entire continent with three young kids. Incredible.

Dreaming big is more than just a fanciful thought process; it's the very fuel that will drive you through the journey of this short, beautiful life.

There's a certain magic in dreaming big – a magic that transforms this regular, ordinary life into something truly remarkable.

These dreams, your dreams, are precious.

They’re not naïve and they aren’t foolish; if you allow them, they can be the seeds of your future reality.

The Challenges of Dreaming Big

Now, I’m not going to lie, it's a path filled with uncertainty and often, a fair share of skepticism from others. You’ll face moments of self-doubt and times when your dreams will feel out of reach. But remember, it's these very challenges that make the journey worthwhile.

You'll learn that every obstacle is an opportunity in disguise, resilience will become your greatest ally, and each failure is a lesson, bringing you one step closer to your goal.

As Thomas Edison wisely put it, "I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work."

These experiences are the true essence of dreaming big. It isn't in the certainty of achieving the dreams, but in the journey they take you on. It's about the person you become while chasing them – more courageous, more resilient, more determined.

So, let them scare you a little; that fear is a testament to their worth. Let them challenge you, because that’s an opportunity to grow. Most importantly, let them guide you, because they’ll help you discover your true potential.

Dreaming big is not just an act of imagination, but an act of courage. It's a bold declaration of your hopes and an unwavering commitment to your potential.
